Internet Explorer 5 or later does not display characters encoded in UTF-8 correctly. The reason is unknown to us. Hints are welcome. Therefore we only can recommend one of the aforementioned browsers.

Fonts

Make sure that Arial Unicode MS or Code2000 are installed. (on MS Windows also the International Language Support has to be installed; if you are not sure just install Arabic or Chinese)

Microsoft's Arial Unicode MS is no longer available for download from www.microsoft.com, but it comes with Access 2000, Excel 2000, FrontPage 2000, Office 2000 Premium, Outlook 2000, PowerPoint 2000, Publisher 2000, Word 2000 or later versions.

Zeichensätze

Vergewissern Sie sich, dass Arial Unicode MS oder Code2000 installiert sind. (unter MS WIndows muß auch die internationale Sprachunterstützung installiert sein; falls Sie nicht sicher sind, installieren Sie Arabisch oder Chinesisch).

Microsofts Arial Unicode MS steht seit etwa Mitte 2002 nicht mehr zum freien Download zur Verfügung, wird aber mit Access 2000, Excel 2000, FrontPage 2000, Office 2000 Premium, Outlook 2000, PowerPoint 2000, Publisher 2000, Word 2000 oder späteren Versionen dieser Programme geliefert.

Code2000 relies on font-smoothing (anti-aliasing) for screen display, it does not contain hinting instructions.

To switch on font-smoothing in Windows 2000: [Start] - [Control Panel] - [Display] - [Effects] - check the box which says "Smooth edges of screen fonts".

Für Code2000 sollte man auf jeden Fall die Fontglättung einstellen:

Edit --> Preferences -->Appearance --> Fonts: Fonts for (Unicode) choose Code2000 / Arial Unicode MS.

Internet Explorer:

Extras --> Preferences --> General --> Fonts: Choose for LATIN BASE Code2000 / Arial Unicode MS

Netscape:

Bearbeiten --> Einstellungen --> Gesamtbild --> Schriftarten: Bei Schriftarten für (Unicode) Code2000 / Arial Unicode MS einstellen.

Internet Explorer:

Extras --> Internetoptionen --> Allgemein --> Schriftarten: Für LATEINISCHER STAMM Code2000 / Arial Unicode MS auswählen.

To minimize the number of possible problems we try to avoid Java and JavaScript and to deliver pure HTML pages.

BUT: Both might be needed for some features.

Um Kompatibilitätsproblme zu minimieren,vermeiden wir Java und JavaScript in den Webseiten und versuchen uns auf HTML zu beschränken
