OKT (Ortaköy Excavation Transliterations) is a digital database containing a comprehensive and searchable record of the transliterations of cuneiform tablets and tablet fragments discovered at Ortaköy-Šapinuwa from 1990 to the present. Aygül Süel prepared all the transliterations while working as an epigraphist at the Ortaköy-Šapinuwa excavations from 1990 onwards.
As with all excavation transliterations, the data presented here reflects the initial and therefore provisional decipherment of these texts. Aygül Süel and her team will further refine and correct the transliterations as part of their ongoing editorial work on the Ortaköy-Šapinuwa texts. Both printed and digital editions are planned.
To maximise the potential connections between text data, OKT uses the same philological rules, markup standards, and search engine as TLHdig on the HPM platform. More information about these standards and rules can be found on the TLHdig website. The integration of OKT data with TLHdig is planned as part of future editorial work on the texts.
The current subdivisions of transliterations according to CTH numbers are provisional. These sections will be continuously revised and improved as OKT fragments are gradually catalogued in the Konkordanz.
As with TLHdig, the Konkordanz will in the future also contain direct links to OKT transliterations. Similarly, it will provide easy access to digital photographs of the Ortaköy-Šapinuwa tablets and fragments in the Photo Archive of the Ortaköy-Šapinuwa Archaeological Mission.
Using the tabs above or the links below, you can access the transliterations by searching by excavation number (Texts by Excavation Number) or by text groups (Texts by CTH Number). Use Search OKT (also found in the menu on the right) to search for transliterations using various filter options.
