CTH 626.Tg04.7

Festival of Haste (nuntarriyašḫa-). Day 4

introductio

Short description

The seventh version of the day-tablets describing DAY 4 of the nuntarriyašḫa- festival includes only one tentatively identified manuscript, KBo 56.74. The text seems to mention a ḫuluganni- cart adorned with gold, waiting at a gazzituri- (perhaps a well pole?). Such a vehicle is otherwise attested only in the day-tablets of DAY 5 of the nuntarriyašḫa- festival, where it is taken from Taḫurpa to Ḫattuša. It is therefore reasonable to attribute KBo 56.74 – if correctly restored – to the previous day of the festival, when the king is on his way toward Taḫurpa.

Texts

Manuscript AKBo 56.7456/uHaH

History of publication

KBo 56.74 has not been edited previously.

Tablet characteristics

Judging from the spacious writing and the presence of lines containing only a single word, one can conclude that the fragment comes from a three-column tablet.

Palaeography and handwriting

The fragment is too small for any reliable palaeographic analysis.
