Festival of Haste (nuntarriyašḫa-). Day 6

introductio

Short description

Version 5 is one of the two versions that describe the events following the great assembly in the ḫalentu- complex. The three manuscripts included here run parallel to the passages depicting the god-drinking in other versions, but do not end with the royal couple leaving the ḫalentu- complex and proceeding to the temple of the Storm-god. Unfortunately, the subsequent events are poorly preserved.

Texts

Manuscript AKUB 25.17Bo 100Ḫattuša
Manuscript BKUB 54.51Bo 1437Ḫattuša
Manuscript CBo 7301Ḫattuša

Literature from the Konkordanz

  • M. Nakamura, PIHANSt 94, 2002: 212

History of publication

Ms. A (KUB 25.17) was included in the edition of Nakamura M. 2002a: 212. The two remaining manuscripts have not been edited previously.

Tablet characteristics

Ms. A seems originally to have been a three-column tablet. Ms. B preserves only the middle portion of a column, making it impossible to determine its full width, though a three-column format is not unlikely.

Palaeography and handwriting

Mss. A and B are written in the New Script. For ms. C, a palaeographic assessment is not possible.
