Festival of Haste (nuntarriyašḫa-). Day 11

introductio

Short description

The sole surviving day-tablet of DAY 11 of the nuntarriyašḫa- festival is KBo 22.177, a small fragment preserving only the colophon of the fifth and final tablet of a composition that describes an autumn festival for Ziparwa and subsequent celebrations of the Sun-goddess of the Earth.

History of publication

KBo 22.177 was attributed to the nuntarriyašḫa- festival by Houwink ten Cate Ph.H.J. 1988a: 184f. (with n. 35) and subsequently accepted by Nakamura M. 2002a: 101f. One should note, however, that Houwink ten Cate’s reading of KBo 22.177 8′ as a]-ni-ú-u[r must be considered less likely, since this word is usually written with the sign U, not Ú. More plausible restorations of this line include EZE]N₄-ni or pá]r-ni ú-[ez-zi.
