Short description

Version 3 is attested in a single manuscript, KBo 23.92+, which records celebrations extending over at least two days: the first held in Matilla and the second in Arinna. As the text is written in the Middle Script, it represents the earliest available version of the festival and was most likely composed prior to the establishment of the nuntarriyašḫa-festival.

The text has not been edited previously. The attribution of the text to CTH 626 stems from Charles Steitler.

Tablet characteristics

Ms. A was originally a three-column tablet, with approx. one third of each column currently preserved.

Palaeography and handwriting

Ms. A is written in the Middle Script. Characteristic sign forms include DA with the indented upper horizontal; E with the lower first vertical; URU with all horizontals of equal length; and UZ with the broken horizontal.
