Text transmission

Intertextuality

This Luwian text mentions beings (female attendants, eels and probably birds), who were entangled in the CTH 764.5.1, as well as a state of being entangled. The term for a patient, which is called a “human child” in the texts of the Tauriša tradition, is also preserved in this fragment. The mention of the turaḫi-tools and the predicate ‘take’ allow us to propose that this fragment represents a parallel to the lost second part of the first conjuration of CTH 764.5.1, which provides a solution to the problem. Note, however, that this fragment is fully preserved in Luwian, whereas the first conjuration of CTH 764.5.1 is mostly translated into Hittite.
