Manuscript AKBo 14.11434/qBk. A

History of publication

This text was published in transliteration in Starke F. 1985a: 256–257 as a pregnancy spell.

Tablet characteristics

The fragment is one-sided. No edges or parts of the intercolumnium are preserved.

Palaeography and handwriting

Middle Script

Linguistic characteristics

A Hittite sentence is inserted into a Luwian conjuration.

Text transmission

The fragment was found in Building A of Büyükkale.

Intertextuality

A mention of the gods Šulinkatte and Zilipura in this fragment connects it with CTH 765.1. It is difficult to determine whether this feature represents a parallel to CTH 765.3.1, because the preserved body parts are different in both texts, but another feature that they share is the mention of the god Šulinkatte. The presence of the ḫarrani-birds links this text with CTH 764.5.2, where the wings of these birds are mentioned in the context of restoring the cosmic order.

General information

A number of body parts, presumably affected by a disease, are listed in this conjuration (section 4).
