General information

This Luwian fragment probably contains at least two distinct conjurations. Sections 2-3 mention restoring the original state of body parts, while section 5 focuses on landscape elements. Both conjurations closely resemble CTH 764.1 at the level of phraseology. Sections 2-3 apparently contain a positive counterpart to the stories of divine banquet reflected in CTH 764.1. Here everything runs perfectly, upon which the “mighty grandmother” undertakes a positive action with regard to a disruption. The causes of the disruption are probably addressed in the preceding part of the conjuration, which is lost in a lacuna. The requests in section 5 feature landscape elements that are very similar to those mentioned in the second conjuration of CTH 764.1. The invitation to “hold” them probably implies a restraining action on the part of the gods, which again finds a parallel in the second conjuration of CTH 764.1.
