History of publication

The fragment A₂ was published in transliteration in Rosenkranz B. 1988a: 287f. Two other fragments (A₁, A₃) were published in transliteration by Starke (Starke F. 1985a: 265 and Starke F. 1985a: 263 accordingly) as miscellaneous spells. Fragment A₄ was published in transliteration in Groddek D. 2011b: 127, where a possibility of its join with A₂ and A₃ was first proposed (n. 319). The join between A₄ and A₃ was confirmed by J. Lorenz, while the indirect join of these fragments with A₂ was confirmed by L. Puértolas Rubio and I. Yakubovich in the course of their work on the Luwili project. Finally, the direct join between A₁ and A₂ was proposed by V. Ivanov and I. Yakubovich in the course of their work on the Luwgramm project.

Tablet characteristics

This tablet consists of four joined pieces. A part of the right edge of the tablet is preserved, while the location of its edge can be restored. The resulting width of the column is approximately 10 cm. The reverse contains a partly preserved colophon, which mentions that the composition is not finished.

Palaeography and handwriting

The ductus of the tablet displays transitional features between the prototypical Middle and New Script.

Text transmission

A₄ was found in an old excavation rubble in the area of Temple 1, the findspot of A₃ is store room 18 of Temple 1. In the absence of contradictory evidence, it is assumed that all the fragments of this tablet stem from Temple 1.

Intertextuality

The text on the obverse has counterparts in both column one and column two of CTH 766.3.1. The divine list is significantly better preserved in the present version (section 1).
