Basis of the edition

The present edition is based on the photographs available at the Mainzer Photoarchiv of the Hethitologie Portal Mainz, as well as the available hand-copies and relevant secondary literature up to 2019. When the original manuscripts have been collated, this is noted in the commentary.

Commentary

This fragment lists offerings and festivals for various deities. In some cases, a geographical name in the ablative case indicates the place from which offerings are to be delivered (i 2′: Ḫašpinuwa, iii 6′: Kalapiya); if Ḫašpinuwa is to be equated with Ḫašpina and localized near modern Ankara, this provides an approximate geographical setting for the inventory (Forlanini 2013: 52-53).

Palaeography and orthography: Both older and newer LI (iii 2′ vs. 4′). Note the use of AŠ for Akkadian INA.

i 2′: The town Ḫašpinuwa, mentioned in the cult inventory KBo 55.186 and in KUB 60.117 (CTH 590) as well, is to be equated with Ḫašpina, which is located in the northern districts.

iii 3′, 5′: On DIM4 BAPPIR “malt (and) beer-bread” see Fritzsche 2011: 32 and Stol 1989: 325-26 §7.

iii 6′: The GN Kalapiya is attested in ABoT 2.123 i 4′ as well. The two fragments might belong to the same tablet.
