Basis of the edition

The present edition is based on the photographs available at the Mainzer Photoarchiv of the Hethitologie Portal Mainz, as well as the available hand-copies and relevant secondary literature up to 2019. When the original manuscripts have been collated, this is noted in the commentary.

2′: The passage, perhaps a cult object description, seems to refers to the “motif of the eagle swooping down on a hare that is so popular on the seals” (Collins 1989: 199, who proposes to restore ḫarzi at the end of the line).

10′: The reading GALA is uncertain and is based on the copy, only traces are visible on the photo.
