Basis of the edition

The present edition is based on the photographs available at the Mainzer Photoarchiv of the Hethitologie Portal Mainz, as well as the available hand-copies and relevant secondary literature up to 2019. When the original manuscripts have been collated, this is noted in the commentary.

Commentary

This fragment shows remarkable similarities with KUB 25.23+; since the script of the two manuscripts is compatible, a join is possible. See in particular the rarely attested LÚ MÁŠ.GAL “goatherd” (A1 obv.? 4′, cf. KUB 25.23+ obv. ii 43′′ with commentary), the occurrence of the formula on the presentation of the meat in the accusative case (KUB 25.23+ rev. iv 40′, 53′ has zé-ia-an, A1 obv.? 5′ has zé-e-an), and the peculiar formula on the coming of sunset.
