Cult inventory (CTH 528.114) Textual tradition
Basis of the edition The present edition is based on the photographs available at the Mainzer Photoarchiv of the Hethitologie Portal Mainz, as well as the available hand-copies and relevant secondary literature up to 2019. When the original manuscripts have been collated, this is noted in the commentary. Commentary This fragment preserves festival descriptions. The text is in general of the kind typical for cult inventories, but the absence of characteristic formulae and the use of spelling which are unusual for the genre (lu-uk-kat-ti-ma, obv. 9′; ḫu-u-ma-an-te-[eš], obv. 10′) call for caution in classifying the tablet. The preserved portion of the reverse contains the description of the festivals of the fruits and of the autumn festival for the goddess Ḫuwaššanna, here spelled sumerographically as GAZ.BA.A (for these spellings and in general on this goddess, see Hutter 2013). The specific rites which constitute the festival are referred to by the logogram SISKUR “ritual” (rev. l. col. 7′).
