Basis of the edition

The present edition is based on the photographs available at the Mainzer Photoarchiv of the Hethitologie Portal Mainz, as well as the available hand-copies and relevant secondary literature up to 2019. When the original manuscripts have been collated, this is noted in the commentary.

Previous editions: Hazenbos 2003: 65-67.

Mount Kartiuna is attested together with the river Zuliya, Ankuwa, Zippalanda and Ḫattuša in KBo 45.69 (CTH 647) (kindly pointed out by A. Kryszeń).

Palaeography and orthography: Deep impressions; the verticals lean towards the left and the lines of the script tend to raise from left to right. Note the use of KUR for ḪUR.SAG.
