Kurzbeschreibung |
|
The new join between KBo 14.76 (Outline.6) and KBo 43.115 (Outline.9), identified in April 2025, requires adjustments to the analyses presented in Kryszeń A. 2025a and Kryszeń A. 2025b, where the two fragments are treated independently. The join, however, does not alter the overall interpretation of the festival proposed in those studies.
Outline.6 is – alongside Outline.1 – one of the two outline tablets in which the colophon is at least partly preserved.

History of publication |
|
In Nakamura’s edition (Nakamura M. 2002a: 6 and 60–64), KBo 14.76 is designated as Ü 4, while KBo 43.115 was recognized as an outline tablet of the nuntarriyašḫa- festival by Jürgen Lorenz on 2.10.2017 (entry in the Konkordanz). The join between the two fragments was confirmed during the research conducted at the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations in Ankara in April 2025.

Tablet characteristics |
|
Preserved are the middle and lower portions of col. i on the obverse, and upper/middle parts of col. iii and iv on the reverse. Obv. i contains the descriptions of as many as fifteen days of the celebrations – three more than any other outline. By contrast, the available lines of col. iv preserve only the paragraph on the origin of the festival and the colophon, along with a large uninscribed area. This indicates that the main content of Outline.6, likely all paragraphs containing celebrations, was arranged in the first three columns.

Palaeography and handwriting |
|
Outline.6 is written in the New Script.

Both fragments were discovered on Büyükkale, although in different areas: KBo 14.76 in Building G, whereas KBo 43.115 in Building A. It is unclear where the tablet was originally housed.

General information |
|
The tablet presents a variant of events corresponding to DAY 8 of the ‘united’ version. Here, the usual order of actions – attested in Outline.1, Outline.2, Outline.4 or Outline.7 – is altered, and an additional episode is included, namely the king’s visit to the House of Ḫannu. Furthermore, the layout of Section 7 (DAY 30) is problematic, leaving an unusually large space between the initial lukkatti=ma and the subject of the sentence (DZulummaš), which is written in the following line.
