Detailed descriptions of the celebrations in the temple of URAŠ are known from two fragments that seem to be duplicate texts, KBo 30.77 and CHDS 3.6. The tablets clearly describe more than one day of celebrations, as indicated by the opening of the ḫalentu- complex – which marks the beginning of a new day – reported in the middle of the text (KBo 30.77 obv. iii 1′). However, the natural conclusion that the texts describe multiple days of the same festival is challenged by the last preserved lines of col. iv of KBo 30.77 (dupl. CHDS 3.6 obv. r. col.? 13′–22′). There, it is revealed that the autumn festival was incorporated within the nuntarriyašḫa- festival and that King Ḫattušili (III) introduced modifications to the celebrations.
This passage seems to have inspired an intriguing proposal by Soysal O. – Yıldız Gülşen B. 2019a: 14 to restore the subsequent lines of the above-discussed passage (in the duplicate text CHDS 3.6). Although not explicitly stated, their restoration seems to suggest that the texts are Sammeltafeln, and that the information on the changes made in the autumn festival were followed by changes in the spring festival, or – more specifically – the AN.DAḪ.ŠUM-festival. This would help explain the general structure of the text, the double paragraph lines after the sections concerning the nuntarriyašḫa- festival, as well as the wording of the subsequent section. This interpretation is adopted in the present edition. As a result, only those portions of the manuscripts are included in the following treatment of the text, which are deemed relevant for the nuntarriyašḫa- festival.

Tablet characteristics |

Both tablets seem originally to have been three-column tablets, although KBo 30.77 has significantly wider columns (approx. 8 cm) than CHDS 3.6 (approx. 6 cm).

Palaeography and handwriting |
|
Both KBo 30.77 and CHDS 3.6 show sign forms of the IIIc group: note ḪA with one Winkelhaken (both texts), EN with the vertical lacking (both texts), ID and DA with unbroken horizontals (KBo 30.77 and CHDS 3.6, respectively). Both texts therefore seem to be written in the Late New Script.
