Inhaltsübersicht

Abschnitt 1ID=2.1Observation of weapon marks on the ‘position’

History of Publication

The text was copied by F. Köcher in KUB 37, an edition was planned by Riemschneider K. K. 2004a: 133 but did not come to pass.

Tablet characteristics

Fragment from the left of a probably once multi-column tablet. The layout is very spacious.

Paleography and Handwriting

New Script/IIIa: DU has a fourth horizontal instead of the Winkelhaken; ID has broken a central horizontal.

General information

The fragment contains the rest of seven Akkadian liver omens. Besides the ‘position’, the ‘palace gate’ (KÁ É.GAL) is mentioned. The text observes weapon marks (GIŠTUKUL) and filaments (qû(m)). The observations of weapon marks on the ‘position’ in spatial relation to other liver parts are amply found in CTH 549.1 and CTH 549.3. The fragment may preserve parts of the same text, but do not overlap.

L. 10′ has an unusual plene spelling ṣa-a-bi-it for the stative.
