Bird oracle fragment

introductio

Kurzbeschreibung

Fragment with bird oracles. For the possible restoration of the augur’s name in obv. II? 6´ ([…]-ni), see the notes to the text edition. The report in §1´ was originally concluded with a different response, as visible from traces of this previous determination, partially erased but still visible, close to the right edge of the tablet.

The content of the final two lines in this fragment’s column is unclear. Although they are close to the end of the column, the text may have continued on the tablet’s reverse, which is not preserved; thus, this is likely also an oracle report.
