History of publication

Handcopy: A. Walther (KUB 18, Walther A. 1927a).

Edition: Sakuma Y. 2009b, II 173-174.

Tablet characteristics

Small fragment of two-columned tablet, preserving a central portion of the tablet for some ten lines of text, including the central spacing column. In the handcopy of KUB 16, A. Walther determined that the text belongs to the reverse (thus columns III and IV) “Rs. wegen der Verdrängung von III”. In his copy, traces of writing were noted in the intercolumnium and between lines 2´ and 3´ of the right column, although it remains unclear from the available photographs whether any script was present here. If additional signs were inscribed in this space and then erased or simply lost, disturbing the existing script of the right column (particularly in line 3´), they must necessarily have been posterior and likely belonged to the text of the left column.
