Bird oracles by Mašduriandu

introductio

Kurzbeschreibung

Fragment with bird oracles, at least one of them performed by the augur Mašduriandu. The matter of the oracle investigations cannot be reconstructed from the surviving text. One oracle mentions the ‘Mother goddess’ (obv. 2´), and another the ‘lords’ of the city of Ḫa[š-…], a toponym which cannot be restored as there are several compatible city names.
