Kurzbeschreibung |
|
This fragmentary text with bird oracle reports presents peculiar forms in the communication of oracular content. Apparently, the authors included in the running text (of a letter?) some comments about bird flights (obv. 7´), which do not seem to be organic to a complete oracle report in the typical structures. These descriptions of flight also have minor variations from the standard formulary (e.g. “But now it (i.e. the bird) suddenly …” obv. 7´). The tablet’s early date might account for some of these peculiarities, but its fragmentary state does not allow an exact interpretation of the full scope of the composition.
