Tentative. In consideration of the semantics of the verb (
HW2 Ḫ, 16-17), I wonder if the birds are the object of being ‘set in motion’ (such as by the wind, a noise, or people) or ‘set in swinging motion’ (such as while perching on the trees, etc.) and not the subject of the sentence, as in the interpretation of
Sakuma Y. 2009b, II, 469:
[ma-a-an ku-u-uš (?)
] MUŠENḪI].A …, thus “
[Wenn mich diese Vögel
] nicht in Bewegung setzten, soll
[en die Vögel (es) verwerf
